Inconstancy means not constant; changeable; fickle; variable. This is said to be the one constant of life...change! When we endeavor to practice current moment awareness meditation we observe this inconstancy in the reality of the present moment. Once we are aware of this truth in our lives, we can begin to let go of our egos need to hold onto or escape the reality of the present moment and learn to flow with life on life's terms. This is the essence of acceptance. If we practice diligently we can begin to change our egoic mind patterns and reduce our feelings of anxiety, fear, and self-doubt about life. We can begin to recognize that life does not exist in our minds, but in our experience of the current moment. With this comes a freedom from expectations, projection, and conflict with reality. We can begin to set our higher self free from the ego. Our practice affords us the opportunity to make that change.
