Silence. When we are in our cars and practicing our awareness of the current moment, we listen to the sounds of the road as they happen. We don't judge, list, name, or think about the sounds. We just listen and experience them. These sounds are dynamic and come and go with a definite start and end. They come from the auditory constant...silence. Serenity Now
If you think about it, serenity is a very subjective thing. I have known people who find serenity at the top of a mountain, and others who find their peace while screaming down a ski slope at sixty miles an hour. I've also have heard the old saying "The only serenity you find on top of a mountain, is the serenity you bring with you." I suppose that this is somewhat true, but I would offer this caveat.
